SKAGIT COUNTY DRUG COURT |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
Drug Court has historically been an intensive two-year therapeutic court program. Its participants are individuals who are charged with felony offenses who have substance use disorders and are willing to engage in treatment to address issues related to substance use disorder, mental health, and long-term recovery. Drug Court is designed to promote public safety while addressing each participant’s need for recovery. The program draws upon the expertise and cooperation of a multi-disciplinary team including Skagit County Superior Court, the Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the Skagit County Public Defender’s Office, law enforcement, and substance use treatment providers. Important Program Update: Due to funding restraints, Drug Court is no longer accepting new applicants. The program will be closing as of the end of 2026. Currently enrolled participants will still receive the same level of accountability and support as the program has provided since its inception in 1997. However, the length of the program is now reduced to 12 months. Drug Court is held every second and fourth Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. |
