June 24, 2025 Call for Applications for Skagit County Planning CommissionThe Planning Commission works with the Planning and Development Services Department and advises the Department and the Board of County Commissioners on proposed land use plans and regulations in unincorporated Skagit County. The Planning Commission will be working through updates to Skagit County’s agritourism policies this fall. For more information about current Planning Commission work items, please visit: www.skagitcounty.net/Departments/PlanningAndPermit/communplan.htm The Planning Commission consists of nine members (three from each Commissioner District) and usually meets twice monthly in Mount Vernon at the Commissioner’s Administrative Building. Meetings are broadcast live on Skagit 21 and archived online. More information about the Planning Commission is available at: www.skagitcounty.net/planningcommission. There are two Planning Commission seats, one seat in District 1 and one seat in District 3, with terms expiring on August 31, 2025. This call for applications is for residents who live in District 1 or District 3 of Skagit County and would like to be considered for a seat on the Planning Commission. Planning Commissioners serve four-year terms. The applicants nominated for both seats will serve terms expiring on August 31, 2029.
