NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ISSUES FLOOD WARNING ON SKAGIT
More road closures in East Skagit County, Cockerham Island south of Snider Road prepares to evacuate
SKAGIT COUNTY – The Skagit County Sheriff Department will begin notifying Cockerham Island residents south of Snider Road to evacuate. Thunderbird residents began evacuating at 3:30 a.m. this morning. The current forecast predicts the river to peak at Concrete at 34 feet at 10 am Saturday. For Mount Vernon, the current prediction is for a peak of 32 feet at 10 p.m. Saturday evening. Flood stage in Concrete and Mount Vernon is 28 ft.

Martin Road between SR 530 and Rockport Cascade Road
Thunderbird Lane
Lyman Hamilton Highway from east end of Cockerham Island Road to Hamilton City Limits
Cabin Creek Road from 8092 Cabin Creek to Hamilton Cemetery Road
Cape Horn Development, South Skagit Highway
Cockerham Island Road
South Cascade Road
Utopia Road
Swan Road from Thilberg to Mud Lake Road
Dillinger Park Road from Milepost 1.8

The public is advised to not drive through standing water on roadways and obey “closed road” signs.
On the Samish River and tributaries, residents are advised to keep a close watch on possible flood waters. For those who may need sandbags, please contact your local fire department.
