Electric Ferry Presentation to Board of Skagit County Commissioners – December 8, 2015

Skagit County Public Works is currently interested in finding out more about a new electric ferry as a potential replacement vessel for the M/V Guemes. The Department is also interested in possibly participating in a Research & Development and Demonstration Match Program offered through the Clean Energy Fund II. Grants offered through this program match funding of federal funds or other non-state funding sources used to research, develop and demonstrate clean energy technologies. At this time, Skagit County is in the “gathering information” stage of the process.

In order to learn more, the Skagit County Board of Commissioners welcomes Joseph Payne, from EESImarine, for a presentation of his electric ferry design package. The presentation will take place Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 8:30 a.m., in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room, located at 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, WA 98273. The community is welcome to attend the presentation and learn more about this zero emissions electric ferry system.
