SKAGIT RIVER FLOOD WARNING
SKAGIT COUNTY – A flood warning issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect for Skagit County. A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
The Skagit River is forecast to reach a level of 30.9 feet in Concrete tonight at approximately 10:00 pm and 30.09 feet in Mount Vernon on Wednesday afternoon. The flood stage is 28 feet.
These predictions from the National Weather Service are subject to change at any time as new information becomes available. In addition to the Skagit River, smaller streams in Skagit County, including the Samish River, may also leave their banks. Residents in flood-prone areas are advised to monitor weather and river forecasts and be prepared to take action to protect lives and property should flooding occur.
Citizens are advised not to drive through standing water in roadways.
Skagit County Emergency Management is on alert monitoring the river levels through the evening. Skagit County Public Works is posting road closures and hazards on the County website. Skagit County maintains a flood hotline (360-416-1404) with river levels and predictions. The hotline is updated as new information becomes available.
