COMMISSIONERS SIGN RESOLUTIONS TO HELP FACILITATE FLOOD RECOVERY

SKAGIT COUNTY - The Skagit County Commissioners signed three resolutions yesterday in regard to flood clean up, recovery, and public safety:

1.Bacteriological Drinking Water Samples and Tetanus Boosters at no charge for a limited time.

This authorized the Skagit County Public Health Department to offer drinking water bacteriological testing to residents affected by flood waters and free tetanus boosters at no charge to flood fight volunteers in Skagit County through December 15, 2006, or longer if deemed necessary. 2. Creation of a Voucher Program for Disposal of Flood-Related Debris.

This authorizes a voucher program to allow for the disposal of flood-related debris at no cost to the non-commercial residents of Skagit County beginning today until February 12, 2007. For information call Skagit County Public Works at 336-9400.


3. Skagit County Planning and Development Services Waiving Fees for Repair of Flood Damage.

This resolution orders and directs that all County fees for building permits to repair damages caused by flooding be paid from the non-departmental budget of the General County Fund provided that all work is limited solely to damage caused by said flood, and that permit applications for flood damage repair where fees are paid by this resolution be received by the Skagit County Planning and Development Services within one year of the flood event and all work is done in compliance with County permit requirement.
