Cascade Mall Shooting Incident Update
Skagit 911 received a call at 6:58 PM from Macy's in the Cascade Mall. The initial caller said at least two people shot. It has now been confirmed 3 deceased, all female. A fourth female has been injured. A male victim has been airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A suspect was last seen walking west towards Interstate 5 wearing black or dark colored clothing. Suspect was carrying a long gun or a rifle.
Only one shooter is suspected. As of 10:00 PM, law enforcement is still securing the Cascade Mall and actively looking for suspect. Please follow @SkagitDEM and @wspd7pio on Twitter.
A Reunification Center has been set up at His Place Church at 1480 S Burlington Blvd, Burlington, WA 98233 for families to reconnect after the Cascade Mall was evacuated. The public is strongly requested to NOT go to the Cascade Mall to get their cars or reunite with family. All Mall property is closed. Please go to the Reunification Center.
The FBI is sending personnel to assist the Skagit Multi Agency Response Team in its investigation of this evening's incident at Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington. The Burlington Police Department is the primary responding agency, but please contact the Joint Information Center at 360-416-1313 for details on the incident. The FBI will help as needed, whether it be in extra manpower, tactical resources, or intelligence-gathering. At this time, we do not have information to suggest additional attacks planned in Washington.
