County seeks applicants for Board of Equalization
SKAGIT COUNTY – Skagit County is seeking letters of interest for a volunteer member of the Board of Equalization from District #3.
This is a part-time, quasi-judicial position on a board charged with deciding appeals concerning property assessments within Skagit County. Appointments are for a three-year term.
Qualifications include: resident of Skagit County, general knowledge of the area and good oral communication skills.
Candidates should be void of any potential conflicts of interest. Persons who have been employed in the Skagit County Assessor's office may not sit on the Board of Equalization for a period of two years after leaving their employment with the Assessor. In addition, for this request, interested citizens must be residents of District #3.
Any board member appointed must attend annual training provided by the Washington State Department of Revenue within one year of date of appointment.
