SKAGIT COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT SEEKS PARTICIPATION FOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO REVIEW DRINKING WATER REGULATIONS
COUNTY - Skagit County Health
Department is seeking to establish a Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) to review
proposed changes to the Drinking Water regulations (Skagit County Code 12.48).
The Committee would serve in an advisory role to the Skagit County Health Department
and County Commissioners in their role as Board of Health. There will be a Phase
1 review of the regulations as they pertain to implementation of the newly adopted
Skagit instream flow rule (WAC 173-503), plus updates to make the code consistent
with current State drinking water regulations. Phase 1 is to be completed by
December 31, 2006. Phase 2 will review all other sections of SCC 12.48 and will
take place in the last half of 2007.
Skagit County is seeking citizens to participate on the committee who represent
a wide variety of interests with specific knowledge and experience in drinking
water health and safety issues, land use issues, best available science and/or
other related subjects. Interested citizens should submit a letter of interest
along with a statement of qualifications by August 11, 2006 to:
