WIC Program would not be affected by state government shutdown

SKAGIT COUNTY – With a possible July 1 shutdown of state government services, Skagit County Public Health and Community Services Director Jennifer Johnson emphasizes that the WIC Nutritional Program will still serve clients.

Unfortunately, National Public Radio (NPR) and Office of Financial Management (OFM) mistakenly included WIC on a recent list of programs that would suspend services if the state government shuts down. This error has subsequently been noted by these organizations.
