SKAGIT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PROCLAIM MAY 16-22 EMS WEEK

SKAGIT COUNTY – The Skagit County Commissioners signed a proclamation declaring May 16-22, 2004 Skagit County EMS Week during their regular session today. The Emergency Medical Services system serves as the first responder providing immediate care to victims of sudden and serious illness or injury.

Founded in 1978, Skagit County EMS is funded through a tax levy. The EMS commission coordinates, operates and maintains the system with the Skagit County Board of Commissioners maintaining ultimate authority of direct oversight of the Medic One system.
