Guemes Island Ferry will be out of service for repairs May 19 - 22, 2014

SKAGIT COUNTY - Recently, the M/V Guemes was out of service for repairs to the #2 main engine. During the repairs additional damage was discovered due to salt contamination in the coolant in both main engines. The M/V Guemes will need to be hauled out and its keel cooling system pressure tested to find the source of the salt contamination. Fortunately, during the shipyard's busy season, Dakota Creek Shipyard, in Anacortes, has found an opening in their schedule for the repairs.

The M/V Guemes will be out of service starting at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014. Passenger-only service will be provided by Arrow Launch Services. If everything goes smoothly, the M/V Guemes will be back in service for the 6:30 a.m. run Friday morning, May 23, 2014. This outage comes right before the holiday weekend and Skagit County apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. Updates to this information will be posted at www.skagitcounty.net/ferry and at www.linetime.org.

Notifications will also be sent to those on our e-mail subscription list.
