Disaster Recovery Centers to Open in Burlington and Hamilton

Skagit County Emergency Management will host two Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Burlington and Hamilton to help residents affected by the December 2025 flooding event apply for federal, state, and local resources to support recovery efforts. Residents looking to apply for disaster recovery funds should be prepared to share home, mailing, and email addresses, phone number, social security number, and banking and insurance information.

DRCs at both the Burlington and Hamilton locations will host representatives from Skagit County Emergency Management, Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of the Washington State Insurance Commissioner, The Salvation Army, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Washington State Emergency Management Division, Community Action of Skagit County, and United Way of Skagit County.

On April 11, 2026, President Trump approved a major disaster declaration for the December 2025 storms. The declaration includes several counties in Washington state, including Skagit County, which releases funds to support individuals and public agencies recovering from the disaster. Residents should register for individual disaster assistance by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov or calling 1-800-621-3362. The deadline to register is June 10, 2026.
