Skagit County Stormwater Management Program Plan available for public comment
Skagit County announces that the draft 2020 Skagit County Stormwater Management Program Plan is now available online for public comment, and invites residents to review and provide feedback.
Skagit County discharges stormwater runoff into the State’s streams, rivers, lakes, and other water bodies under the Western Washington Phase II Municipal Stormwater Permit. Skagit County creates the Stormwater Management Program Plan to inform the public on what stormwater-related actions and events Skagit County has planned for the coming year. The Stormwater Management Program Plan is an annual requirement of Skagit County’s municipal stormwater permit.
“The goal behind everything we do is to reduce stormwater-related pollution in Skagit County,” said Jason Quigley, Skagit County Stormwater Permit Program Coordinator. “We participate in the Mount Vernon High School science night, conduct workshops for contractors and the public on a variety of stormwater-related topics, and support programs designed to reduce runoff pollution.”
The draft plan can be found online at https://www.skagitcounty.net/Departments/PublicWorksSurfaceWaterManagement/whatwedo.htm
