Livestock Advisor Training Offering This Fall in Burlington

Do you want to learn how to raise your own beef, chicken, eggs, bacon and more? Would you like to know where your family’s food comes from? The WSU Livestock Advisor program is offering Livestock Advisor Training, starting September 9, 2009 at WSU Skagit County Extension, 11768 Westar Lane, Suite A, Burlington, WA. The 60 hours of livestock-based training covers feeding, breeding, and housing of beef, sheep, goats, poultry, and swine, as well as mud, manure, pasture, and predator management using best management practices. In return for the training, graduates give back 50 hours of volunteer time over the next two years. Cost of the training is $150, with a $50 rebate when volunteer hours are returned.
