Livestock Advisor Training Offering This Fall in Burlington
Do you want to learn how to raise your own beef, chicken, eggs, bacon and more? Would you like to know where your familys food comes from? The WSU Livestock Advisor program is offering Livestock Advisor Training, starting September 9, 2009 at WSU Skagit County Extension, 11768 Westar Lane, Suite A, Burlington, WA. The 60 hours of livestock-based training covers feeding, breeding, and housing of beef, sheep, goats, poultry, and swine, as well as mud, manure, pasture, and predator management using best management practices. The evening classes are taught by WSU Extension staff, veterinarians, and other experts in their fields. In return for the training, graduates give back 50 hours of volunteer time over the next two years. Cost of the training is $150, with a $50 rebate when volunteer hours are returned.
