Learn how to file for office and correctly submit your Voters’ Pamphlet information with the Skagit County Candidates Guide 2020 

COVID-19 RESPONSE
To maintain a safe environment for everyone, we urge you to submit your Declaration of Candidacy and Voters’ Pamphlet profile online. If you are unable to file online, we will be in the office during filing week and can receive your filing.  When you arrive in our office, please call 360-416-1702 and someone will come out to assist you.

2020 Online Candidate Filing: May 11 at 9am to May 15 at 4pm.

All Precinct Committee Officer positions are up for filing
- no filing fee
- if only 1 person has filed at the close of filing, they are considered elected
- PCO’s do not participate in the voters’ pamphlet

Ways to file for office

  • Candidates are required to provide an email address when filing
  • ALL communication with candidates is done via email

Online
May 11 at 9am – May 15 at 4pm.
Online filing is available 24 hours a day
Candidates can use a credit card to pay filing fees

Mail
Candidates who will be out of the area during the filing period can file by mail beginning Monday April 27, 2020 and ending at 4:30pm on the last day of the regular filing period. Filings received through the mail before or after the prescribed time, regardless of postmark, are invalid and will be returned.

Skagit County Elections is open Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 4:30pm at:
700 S. 2nd St, Room 201
Mount Vernon, Washington

Knowingly providing false information on a Declaration of Candidacy is a class C felony as provided by RCW 29A.84.711.
