Guemes Island Ferry Ticket Expiration Policy
Skagit County is aware of the complaints submitted regarding the expiration policy of Guemes Island ferry punch cards.
Update 11/4/2024 at 12:50pm:
At this time, the Guemes Island Ferry is suspending all ferry operations until further notice.
Sea conditions have deteriorated to a point where it is not safe for our passengers, crew, or ferry to operate.
Thank you for your understanding during this weather event. We will send another update late this afternoon, or as sea conditions change.
Written Comment Open for Draft 2025 Guemes Ferry Fare Schedule through Friday, September 20th.
The public may provide written comments on the draft 2025 Guemes Island ferry fare schedule through this Friday, September 20th, at 4:30 p.m. by emailing ferrycomments@co.skagit.wa.us and including a full name and address.
The County Commissioners are interested in public input on the following topics related to the draft ferry fare schedule:
- Draft 2024 Ferry Fare Revenue Target Report
- Proposed 2025 ferry fare schedule
- 2024 Ferry Fare Revenue Target Report
- Expiration dates for single-ride tickets
- Standardizing the 15% discount on multi-ride passes year-round
- Eliminating multi-ride passes (thereby eliminating the expiration dates)
- Changing the expiration dates on multi-ride passes from 90 days to 45 days
- Proposed charter rate for requested private trips
- Charging for parking in Anacortes
- Proposed rate for emergency response
- During regular ferry hours of operation
- Outside regular ferry hours of operation

2024 Preliminary Guemes Ferry Revenue and Expenses Reports: Revenue | Expense
The preliminary revenue and expense reports have been posted for the Guemes Island Ferry in 2024. The Board of County Commissioners will host a public hearing on the entire 2024 budget on Monday, Dec. 4th, from 10:00am – 11:00am, and then the Commissioners will deliberate on adopting the final budget on Monday, Dec. 11th, from 8:45am – 9:15am.
