Applicants sought for Skagit County Solid Waste Advisory Committee
Volunteer members are invited to apply for two vacant positions on the Skagit County Solid Waste Advisory Committee. Letters of interest are being accepted until the position is filled for a member from District 3 and a representative from the Agricultural Community.
The Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) consists of 14 voting members representing Skagit County's eight cities and towns, Recyclers, Haulers and Commissioners' Districts 1, 2 and 3 and three non-voting members. Together, members of the SWAC advise Skagit County on all aspects of solid waste management planning, assist Skagit County in the development of solid waste management programs and policies, and review and comment on proposed solid waste management rules, policies or ordinances prior to their adoption. The SWAC generally meets on the second Wednesday of each month.
To apply, please submit a letter of interest and resume for the specific position no later than 4:30 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2019, to Margo Gillaspy, Solid Waste Division Manager at email@example.com, or deliver to 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.
The letter of interest should include:
- How you represent the District 3/Agricultural Community
- Your personal or professional experience related to solid waste and recycling
- Your vision for the future of solid waste management in Skagit County
