Applicants sought for Noxious Weed Control Board vacancies
If your background includes experience in the agriculture, forestry, fisheries or natural resource industries – and even if it doesn’t – you might be the perfect candidate for the Skagit County Noxious Weed Control Board.
Originally formed in April 1980, the Noxious Weed Control Board consists of five districts and meets quarterly to help protect and preserve county land from the degrading impact of noxious weeds. Skagit County is seeking applicants for board vacancies in districts 3, 4 and 5.
Interested applicants must live in the district in which they apply, and must submit an application that includes signatures of at least 10 registered voters in that weed control district. Completed applications can be mailed or hand-delivered to:
Skagit County Noxious Weed Control Board Office
1800 Continental Place
Mount Vernon, WA 98273
Duties of the Noxious Weed Control Board include hosting public hearings for noxious weed listings, partnering with the WSU Extension and Board of County Commissioners to facilitate the county’s noxious weed control program, and overseeing the work of the county’s noxious weed coordinator.
