Surplus county facility, property up for auction April 21
A large commercial facility with frontage on College Way will soon be up for sale. Skagit County will auction off a surplus facility at 1101 E. College Way on April 21.
The Board of Skagit County Commissioners authorized the sale of the facility at a hearing Oct. 25, 2016; since the facility never sold, the Board approved a public auction process during a public hearing Monday, March 27.
The Skagit County Treasurer will auction off the facility on site - 1101 E. College Way - beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017. Terms of the auction state that the minimum price accepted will be $745,000.
The 12,978-square-foot facility up for auction was previously owned by the Salvation Army; it sits on a 1.76-acre site comprised of three separate tax parcels being sold as one. Access to the facility is available from E. College Way and through an access road west of the property. It is zoned General Commercial (C-2), and is served by all current public utilities, including city water and sewer, electricity and natural gas.
