New director hired for Planning and Development Services department
The Skagit County Board of Commissioners recently announced the selection of a new director to lead the county’s Planning and Development Services department.
Hal H. Hart will start Monday, Jan. 29. He has more than 20 years’ experience in rural and urban planning, most recently serving as Director of the Anchorage, Alaska, Planning Department. He previously worked as Director of Planning and Community Development for the city of Juneau, Alaska, and prior to that, served as Director of Planning and Development Services for the city of Woodinville and for Whatcom County.
Hart has a Bachelor of Arts in Local Government Finance and Economics from Central Washington University and a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Eastern Washington University.
