Content Description

Content Summary: The new Skagit County Hydro dataset replaces the older DNR Hydro with more accurate and useful hydrology information. This data was updated through a time intensive process of evaluating each watercourse according to aerial imagery and conducting a series of on the ground field checks. The final dataset tracks changes that were made to the DNR data as attributes of the watercourses. Additional information about watercourse segments, as well as !--links to ancillary data sets, is also tracked in the attributes. This is a dynamic coverage that will be continually updated as better information is made available.

Content Purpose: To create a Skagit County hydro layer that improves on the DNR hydro data in terms of watercourse location and has the ability to link the hydro data to other datasets. Specific Goal: Update the hydro coverage in the Ag-NRL and RRc-NRL zones for use in the re-write of the County’s Critical Areas ordinance regarding agricultural regulations.
