Public Hearing Scheduled For March 17 On Interim Ordinance For Moratorium On Applications For Wetland Mitigation Banks

SKAGIT COUNTY - Skagit County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in the Commissioners’ Hearing Room, 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, WA, on Tuesday, March 17, at 9:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as possible, to receive public testimony and/or written correspondence on the provisions of Interim Ordinance O20090001.

Interim Ordinance No. O20090001 declares an emergency and adopts a moratorium on the acceptance of applications for wetland mitigation banks on lands zoned Agricultural - Natural Resource (Ag-NRL).

Your views for or against Interim Ordinance O20090001 are invited by attendance, representation, or letter.

Written or faxed correspondence must be submitted to: Board of County Commissioners Office, c/o Will Honea, Chief Civil Deputy, 1800 Continental Place, Mount Vernon, WA 98273-5625, (360) 336-9464, or fax (360) 336-9307.

Written comments must be submitted on 8½” by 11” paper in black and white. Maps and other documents must be in black and white and on 8½” by 11” paper for reproduction purposes. E-mails will not be accepted.

Written comments on the interim ordinance must be submitted to the Board of County Commissioners Office at the above address by 4:30 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2009; or they may be submitted directly to the Commissioners at its March 17, 2009 public hearing.
